Welcome to Our Unique Estate Planning Process
Step 1:
15 Minute Discovery Calls
It all starts with a 15-minute call to describe your needs to us and discover if and how we can help you.
For first time estate planning callers
For prior clients of ours wishing to update their estate plan

Step 2:
Life and Legacy Planning Session
During your first meeting with us, one of our attorneys will educate you on the various estate planning options you have, thoroughly review your assets and budget, and assist you with choosing the best plan to protect your legacy in an emergency or at death. We will ask you to submit your family details in advance so that we can hit the ground running at this meeting to answer all of your questions and begin designing your personalized estate plan.

Step 3:
Review and Finalize your Drafts
After your planning session, we will send you drafts of your legal documents by email and review them with you during a 1-hour Zoom call from the comfort of your home, or in person at our office if you’re not so good with technology. We will review all of your legal documents together, explaining what they do for you and pointing out exactly where we personalized important legal language specific to your family and decisions. We’ll finalize those drafts and answer any questions you have during this call.

Step 4:
Sign Your Personalized Estate Plan
During your signing “ceremony” (yes it is official-feeling!), we will provide the notary and witnesses for you, execute all documents, and answer any final questions you may have. You’ll walk out of our office with allexecuted originals in a convenient binder with electronic copies of your plan on a thumb drive.

Step 5:
Fund Your Living Trust
The most important step of ay estate planning process is to make sure you have updated ownership and beneficiaries of your assets in alignment with your Last Will or Living Trust. We go over exactly how you do this, both for your existing assets as well as new assets you acquire over time. Once you fund your Living Trust, you can rest assured knowing everything will pass to your family just how you intend.

Step 6:
Inform Key People About Your Plan
After your plan is complete, you want to make sure the key people named in your plan have exactly what they need to act in both emergency and also for any ongoing administration of your estate or trust. We help you inform the key people with the right information at the right time so that they are not caught off guard if and when anything happens to you.

Step 7:
Check In Over Your Lifetime
Finally, what matters most to us is that we maintain a lifelong relationship with you over time. We know your life will change and the law will change. Your estate plan is not a “one-and-done” task, it is an evolving responsibility to your family and loved ones. We help make sure that you know exactly when your plan might be disrupted based on life events and the law by staying in touch with you over time and being here for you to update your plan when you need it.
